The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has launched the EIT STEM Tech Talent Induction, aimed to close the gaps between education and training systems and the skills required by the labour market in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The initiative aims to expand access to learning opportunities, skills development and professional career pathways for STEM talent across Europe by 2028.
Call for Proposals 2026
As part of the initiative, EIT STEM Talent has opened a Call for Proposals to support organisations developing STEM education and training programmes that can respond to real-world needs, enhance practical skills and support learners to progress in their STEM careers.
The Call will provide up to €2 million in total funding, with up to €80,000 available per project. Up to 25 projects are expected to be supported, with each selected project aiming to reach a minimum of 1,200 learners. EIT STEM Talent invites applications from consortia that include at least one education provider and one business or industry partner. The initiative places particular focus on proposals that widen participation and increase representation of women and girls as well as learners from EIT’s Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) countries and with diverse backgrounds.
The Call opens on 14 October 2026 and closes on 14 December 2026.
STEM Talent for urban mobility transitions
The initiative responds to the growing need for highly skilled STEM talent across strategic sectors that are driving Europe’s green and digital transitions, including the mobility sector. But transforming urban mobility requires the right talent behind the innovation: from data science, AI and software development to engineering and sustainable technologies.
At EIT Urban Mobility, we bring together an ecosystem of cities, industry, startups, researchers and investors to accelerate the transition towards more sustainable and people-centred mobility. Together with EIT STEM Talent we can help building the STEM Talent needed to shape the future of urban mobility.
