6 October 2021

The Innovation Hub North team of EIT Urban Mobility joined the sTARTUp Day 2021 edition in Tartu, Estonia, where they met with urban mobility startups from across the Baltics.

The sTARTUp Day is one of the most important events in Estonia and the north region, and it assembles around 350 startups, 150 speakers, 180 investors and 44,000 attendees from 65 different countries. It is a three-day festival with a marvellous stage programme, effective matchmaking, hands-on seminars, a demo area full of innovative elements and side events. Furthermore, the programme of the event revolves around relevant topics, including smart cities and AI solutions. The Innovation Hub North team was very glad to be present and considered their presence added value to their perspective on tomorrow’s smart cities and mobility.

Moreover, some partners were there to pitch their ideas and products. Thus, the team was excited by the opportunity to take a closer look, and especially to try the one-of-a-kind, autonomous and hydrogen-powered shuttle bus, developed by Auve Tech and the University of Tartu and funded by EIT Urban Mobility. The Innovation Hub North strengthened its presence by teaming up with EIT Manufacturing. With this EIT Community cooperation, it was easier to understand and provide a common guidance to startups that may be part of different areas at the same time. Adding that kind of skill in the organisation can only result in positive effects for EIT Urban Mobility and its partners.

Stay in touch until we meet again!
