8 December 2022

2 min reading time

The second edition of the Highlights Report is now available online.

Learn how EIT Urban Mobility works with the European Union to reach its ambitious carbon emission reduction goals by accelerating change towards a sustainable model of urban mobility and liveable urban spaces.

The growing network of 300-plus organisations brings together relevant actors from industry, research, academia, and the public sector at local, national and European levels. It is active in 33 European countries.

The Highlights Report provides a glimpse of the projects and initiatives that:

  • attract, foster and retain talent in the European urban mobility sector by upskilling and reskilling students, researchers, and professionals and promote entrepreneurship and innovation in higher education institutes;
  • develop and implement mobility products and services by deploying innovations in real-life environments and then commercialise solutions to scale impact in European cities;
  • invest in gender-balanced start-ups and provide them with a full range of services to grow quickly. These include: accelerator programmes, access to funding, and coaching.

Focus areas include: future mobility — new mobility services such as connected and autonomous transport; public realm — reallocation of urban space for people, including tactical urbanism and street experiments; mobility and energy — uptake of zero-emission and clean energy solutions to decarbonise transport; and sustainable city logistics — optimisation of urban services and goods delivery.
