EIT Urban Mobility has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TTS Italia, the Italian Association for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). The memorandum sets the basis for strategic cooperation to promote innovation in transportation and mobility in Italian cities.
The MoU has been signed by Judith O’Meara, Director of Innovation Hub Central – EIT Urban Mobility and Olga Landolfi, Secretary general of TTS Italia.
The document formalises the mutual interaction between the parties, outlining the areas of collaboration, opportunities, and shared objectives. The collaboration aims to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in areas relevant to mobility, supporting Italian cities in their transition to sustainable mobility and innovation.
The agreement was signed to foster broad and mutual collaboration, aiming to unite and enhance the respective innovation ecosystems. Over the two years of the agreement, the parties will actively pursue opportunities for potential partnerships, joint ventures and new areas of expansion. They will work to promote each other’s initiatives and anticipate collaborative projects. TTS Italia will support in the integration of Italian partners into the European network. Meanwhile, EIT Urban Mobility will provide expertise in projects and facilitate dissemination of goals and achievements through national and European programs and events. Together, they aim to strengthen the Italian urban mobility ecosystem and foster sustainable innovation.

TTS Italia, the Italian Association for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) was established on the 8 of March 1999 and brings together the main stakeholders active in the sector, including private companies, mobility agencies, public transport companies, motorway operators, local authorities, research bodies and university departments. The mission of TTS Italia is to support the maximum diffusion of intelligent technologies for transport from a smart mobility perspective, carrying out a representation, information and communication action towards the Institutions, supporting them in the definition of policies and strategies for the ITS sector.
