The European Startup Prize for Mobility continues to reflect the diversity and richness of Europe’s mobility landscape, emphasising the wide range of solutions needed to tackle today’s most urgent transport challenges.

For its 6th edition, the prize has announced its 50 semi-finalists, selected from nearly 500 applicants across 19 countries. Following a rigorous evaluation by almost 100 independent experts, the list includes startups from all maturity levels, from early-stage to Series B and C.

Among these semi-finalists, 11 are startups supported by EIT Urban Mobility through its accelerator programmes, the RAPTOR call or direct investment. This strong representation not only celebrates the success of the startups themselves, but also demonstrates the impactful role of EIT Urban Mobility and its partners in nurturing innovation across the mobility ecosystem.

The nominated companies are:

Among these, two are part of EIT Urban Mobility’s startup portfolio:

Futurail is revolutionising autonomous rail technology with a safety-certified stack that retrofits existing rail fleets and integrates seamlessly into new vehicle development. Their mission is to make trains even more attractive by offering frequent, reliable, cost-effective and low-carbon transportation, contributing to the broader goal of transitioning from road to rail. Futurail’s success includes winning at the AI Pitching Competition at the Forbes START Summit in 2024 and reaching the finals of the Bits & Pretzels European Pitch Competition.

ecoro is rethinking freight transport with an integrated, fully automated ecosystem comprising electric shuttles, dedicated transport lane infrastructure, control software, and automated loading terminals. These shuttles can carry up to 2.4 tons (4 pallets) at a constant 60 km/h speed, entirely emissions-free. With this solution, ecoro was nominated for the IFOY Start-up of the Year award earlier this year, a top recognition in the field of intra logistics.

The award ceremony for the 6th edition of the European Startup Prize for Mobility will take place on 5 June 2025 in Rzeszów, Poland and will also be livestreamed via The Brussels Times. You can register your interest in attending here
