Sustainable, liveable, and efficient urban transport remains one of the defining challenges for Europe’s cities. IAA MOBILITY 2025 in Munich provided a broad platform to discuss urban mobility topics and showcase how different players can transform the way we move in our cities through innovation and collaboration, and to engage with partners and stakeholders who share EIT Urban Mobility’s vision.
Shaping the debate on the future of cities
EIT Urban Mobility contributed to the debate as a Research and Innovation Partner of IAA MOBILITY 2025 and addressed two of the most pressing issues for Europe’s cities: “The Future of Parking: Rethinking Urban Space” with contributions from our CEO, Marc Rozendal; SKIDATA and the City of Berlin, and “Data as the Driver: autonomous vehicles in urban mobility systems” with our partners ADASTEC, the City of Munich and LOXO.
These sessions examined how limited public space can be managed more sustainably, with data-driven approaches that prioritise accessibility, climate goals, and quality of life. They also highlighted the crucial role of data in ensuring that autonomous mobility is deployed in a safe, inclusive, and sustainable way. Both sessions underlined the fact that technology alone is not enough: success depends on governance, collaboration, and a clear commitment to people-centred mobility.
Building bridges across the ecosystem

Equally important were the opportunities to strengthen Europe’s innovation community. TUM Venture Labs, UnternehmerTUM and MCube hosted the Venture Client Roundtable sponsored by EIT Urban Mobility with leading corporates, investors, and research institutions to discuss how stronger collaboration can accelerate mobility solutions.
Another highlight was the Ultimate Startup Party, where Europe’s start-up ecosystem came together with investors and industry leaders. We were proud to see several of our portfolio companies and alumni teams take the stage. Events like these remind us of the innovative strength Europe has to offer — and of our responsibility to channel this energy into solutions for sustainable, people-friendly cities.
In general, IAA MOBILITY 2025 was not just about showcasing the latest technology, it was about demonstrating the importance of collaboration, data-driven decision-making and a shared responsibility to rethink how our cities move. Together with our partners, we are committed to leading this transformation towards sustainable mobility and more liveable urban spaces.
