[PORTUGUESE VERSION]
EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, in collaboration with BGI, will participate in the Portugal Cities Summit 2026 in Lisbon at the FIL centre from 12 to 14 May.
EIT Urban Mobility will host two dedicated sessions and welcome participants at its exhibition space, Booth 3C09, to bring together public and private stakeholders and accelerate the transition from pilot projects to scalable urban solutions.
Portugal has emerged as a key environment for testing and deploying sustainable mobility solutions, combining strong municipal leadership with a clear national commitment to clean transport. Cities across the country are actively piloting new approaches, from expanded cycling infrastructure and improved public transport to innovative urban logistics models such as micro-hubs, cargo bikes and digital curb management.
Through its work in Portugal, EIT Urban Mobility has supported a wide range of pilots and on-street demonstrations, helping cities test, refine and scale solutions in areas including active mobility, data-driven planning and urban logistics. These activities are carried out in close collaboration with national authorities including IMT – Instituto da Mobilidade e dos Transportes and ANSR – Autoridade Nacional de Segurança Rodoviária and cities like Braga and Oeiras.
Martí Massot, Regional Director, Innovation Hub South at EIT Urban Mobility, “Portugal plays a central role in our mission because it combines city leadership in an active innovation community, and a clear national commitment to clean transport. By encouraging public and private cooperation here and bringing together policy, data, and action, we can more quickly spread proven methods and deliver real benefits”
