Budapest from 18 to 21 May 2026
During the conference, EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, will showcase how collaboration between cities, industry and research can help scale sustainable urban mobility solutions across Europe. Discussions will focus on concrete topics including zero emission mobility, electromobility, autonomous transport systems, urban logistics and mobility data, highlighting solutions that support both climate goals and Europe’s competitiveness. EIT Urban Mobility will also be present throughout the event at Booth B/22, next to the European Commission stand.
“Central and Eastern Europe is playing an increasingly important role in Europe’s mobility transition, with growing momentum around sustainable transport, electromobility and urban mobility innovation,” says Traian Urban, Director Innovation Hub East, EIT Urban Mobility. “TRA 2026 will bring together cities, industry and researchers to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaboration and support the deployment of practical mobility solutions across the region and beyond.”
Registration for TRA 2026 is available via the official event website: TRA 2026 registration page
EIT Urban Mobility at TRA 2026 on Tuesday, 19 May 2026
10:30–12:00
Strategic Session 2.3: Zero emission mobility in urban areas – pathways to sustainable urban mobility
Marc Rozendal, CEO of EIT Urban Mobility, will join speakers from the European Commission, cities and industry to discuss pathways towards climate neutral urban transport systems through electrification, integrated planning and innovative mobility solutions. The session will be moderated by Patrick Mercier-Handisyde (DG RTD) and rapporteured by Carmela Canonico (UITP), with contributions from Ádám Bodor (BKK), Katie Black (Transdev), Johan Leveque (La Poste) and Manfred Seitz (Danube Commission).
14:40–15:10
Agora Session: Enhancing the future of urban mobility through data spaces
This session will explore the role of geospatial data and interoperable mobility data systems in shaping future urban mobility solutions, featuring Matúš Bakoň (Founder of insar.sk). Matúš Bakoň will present how satellite-based ground motion intelligence can support safer, more resilient and data-driven transport infrastructure. The presentation will show how satellite monitoring can help cities and infrastructure operators detect early signs of ground instability, prioritise inspections, and protect transport networks before visible damage occurs.
15:20–15:50
Agora Session: Electromobility as a cornerstone of sustainable mobility
Focusing on the role of electromobility in Europe’s mobility transition, the session will feature Jakub Ditrich (Founder of eKolo.cz). Jakub Ditrich will present the evolution of battery technology for e-bikes and its impact on performance, accessibility and everyday urban mobility. The presentation will highlight how advances in battery systems are extending range, improving efficiency and supporting the wider adoption of micromobility solutions across European cities.
