The second edition of the Mobility Startup Nexus demonstrated how collaboration and strategic support to startups are driving real progress in mobility. With over 100 registrations, the event, hosted by EIT Urban Mobility, gathered founders, investors, and corporates from across Europe to connect, share insights, and explore new opportunities. This edition highlighted how blended funding, and ecosystem collaboration are strong factors for scaling mobility startups to accelerate the transition toward more sustainable urban mobility in cities.
During the evening, a roundtable discussion on investor partnerships took place, giving startups the chance to hear diverse perspectives from both private and public sector investors. The conversation, featuring Daniel Serra Segarra (EIT Urban Mobility), Viktorija Trimbel (CoInvest Capital), and Kinga Stanislawska (European Women in VC), highlighted key lessons for startups navigating Europe’s funding landscape:
- Mission aligned investment matters: Startups should focus on investors who share their vision and stage, not just their capital needs.
- Blended public–private capital is powerful: Coordinated investment across sectors can open unique scaling opportunities.
- Diversity drives results: Inclusive teams and investor networks unlock new avenues for growth and innovation.
- Sustainability and scalability are essential: Investors increasingly value transparency, measurable impact, and models that scale across B2B and B2G contexts.

Collaboration and networking outcomes
The evening concluded with a relaxed networking session, where participants shared experiences, discussed challenges and explored opportunities to collaborate, all while enjoying the beautiful view of the Barcelona coastline.
Fostering a connected and collaborative investment landscape across Europe remains a key priority for EIT Urban Mobility. In this context, the Mobility Startup Nexus is positioned not simply as an event, but as a platform designed to enable meaningful, long-term relationships between mobility startups and investors. Daniel Serra, Director of Impact Ventures at EIT Urban Mobility, noted:

“The purpose of the Mobility Startup Nexus is to strengthen our ecosystem. We bring together trusted investors who are truly specialised in the mobility sector and the startups in our portfolio to keep building a strong European-wide network.”
The Mobility Startup Nexus is more than a meeting place, it is a catalyst for growth, a bridge between policy and practice, and a demonstration of how Europe’s innovation ecosystem can scale sustainably.
