Tomorrow.Mobility 2026 puts smarter, more connected and resilient cities on the agenda

26 October 2026

Co-organised by Fira de Barcelona and EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, the congress returns for its sixth edition.

The congress will explore how cities can build on recent advances to shape the future of urban mobility. A key focus will be autonomous vehicles and their integration into public transport and shared mobility, as well as the innovation ecosystems and urban infrastructure needed to support their deployment. Other topics include Mobility Data Spaces, Mobility as a Service (MaaS), and public space and parking management. As transport becomes increasingly electrified and automated, electricity grids are also critical to urban mobility. A recent study commissioned by EIT Urban Mobility, ChargeUp Europe and ACEA, and conducted by Siemens, finds that all 64 European cities analysed will need to reinforce their electricity grids by 2030.

Programme highlights

  • Keynote by Lukas Neckermann, “Loveable Cities: Moving into the Future” (4 November, 10:00, Main Stage). Neckermann is an AV expert, co-founder of Urban Places Lab and Board Member of PAVE Europe. He makes the case for cities that are loveable, not just liveable, with people at the heart of mobility.
  • Delivering Next-Generation Public Transport (4 November, 15:00, Move Better Stage). How public transport can evolve with changing mobility habits, including the potential role of autonomous vehicles in the commuting mix.
  • Innovating in an Era of Uncertainty (4 November, 10:20, Main Stage). Mobility innovators navigate policy shifts, trade dynamics and supply chain disruption, with Marc Rozendal, CEO of EIT Urban Mobility, Stefaan Hermans from the European Commission’s DG EAC, and Teresa Riesgo Alcaide, Secretary General for Innovation at the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Malin Andersson Broqvist, Drive Sweden, Axel Volkery, DG MOVE, Eugenio Patanè, City of Rome, Karen Vancluysen, POLIS, Lisandro Perotti, City of Buenos Aires, Tanja Dick, Johan Cruyff Arena, Daryl Barron, Lord Mayor Dublin also join the line-up. TMWC takes place as part of Smart City Expo World Congress, where speakers include Anne Hidalgo, Former Mayor of Paris, and Haris Doukas, Mayor of Athens.

At least 22 startups from its portfolio will be featured in the Mobility Playground, alongside cities including Rome, Munich and Braga. Startups such as Everimpact, NexDash, PANTOhealth, Switch and Ironlev show how innovation moves from pilot to real-world impact. Register for one of our tours of the Mobility innovation playground.
