EIT Urban Mobility’s activities at IAA MOBILITY 2025 at a glance

As Science & Innovation Partner, EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, will actively shape the programme of IAA MOBILITY 2025 with high-level sessions, startup activities, and networking events. From 9–14 September, experts, journalists, and interested stakeholders will gain insights into the latest developments in Europe’s urban mobility under the theme “It’s All About Mobility”.

“The Future of Parking: Rethinking Urban Space“ – Wednesday, 10 September | 10:00–10:30 | Yellow Forum – Messe München
Cities face the challenge of using public space efficiently and sustainably – parking remains one of the most controversial topics. This session will highlight data-driven solutions and new approaches to mobility planning that put parking space at the service of social, environmental, and inclusive goals.

“Data as the Driver: Integrating autonomous vehicles in urban mobility systems“ – Friday, 12 September | 12:00–12:45 | Yellow Forum – Messe München –
Autonomous driving is fundamentally transforming urban mobility. EIT Urban Mobility will discuss the role of data in ensuring safety, efficiency, and fairness in the deployment of autonomous vehicles. The focus will be on data access, governance, and pilot projects in Europe.

IAA Founders Fight – Thursday, 11 September | 16:00–17:00 | Yellow Forum – Messe München –
As jury member, Johannes Kirschner from EIT Urban Mobility will support the start-up pitch competition, bringing his expertise to the evaluation of the most innovative mobility solutions.

Engagement in side events in cooperation with TUM Venture Labs, UnternehmerTUM, and MCube

  • Venture Client Roundtable (Wednesday, 10 September | 13:00–17:30 | Vorhoelzer Forum) – an exchange format for corporate venture teams, this year for the first time also with investors and academia.
  •  Ultimate European Startup Party (Wednesday, 10 September | 18:00–22:00 | Marienplatz) – pitch event featuring the Top 10 of the European Startup Prize for Mobility and leading investors.
