Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS)
The EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (EIT RIS) is the EIT Community’s outreach scheme, introduced in 2014 to make information and expertise from our unique approach available to others. It allows EIT Urban Mobility to share good practice and experiences and to widen participation across Europe.
EIT RIS vision & mission
EIT Urban Mobility’s RIS is designed to help boost the ability of certain countries and regions in Europe to innovate in urban mobility. These are those classified as modest or moderate innovators by the European Innovation Scoreboard. Our outreach scheme is open to innovators who are not partners of EIT Urban Mobility. The map below provides an overview of the RIS countries.
*EIT Urban Mobility has an Innovation Hub in Spain and in Czech Republic. Therefore, no EIT Urban Mobility RIS activities will be carried out in these countries.
Our goal is to help citizens in less developed European countries enjoy the benefits of innovation in urban mobility by giving them access to new mobility products and services, thereby creating more liveable urban spaces.
EIT Urban Mobility RIS activities will focus on:
- Developing local innovation ecosystems in RIS countries by engaging with RIS key players from education, research, businesses and cities through dissemination activities and sharing best practice;
- Involving RIS key players in EIT Urban Mobility education, innovation and business creation activities as well as introducing innovations and scaling up new products and services in the RIS regions.
