Request for proposals: Training programme on urban mobility transformation for the automotive industry in Germany

29 July 2024

By the present procurement procedure, the EIT KIC Urban Mobility S.L. hereby being referred to as “EIT UM” is aiming to identify one supplier capable of delivering the following working package: an applied course on the subject of ´Urban Mobility Transformation´ specifically targeting senior managers and executives who are in the automotive industry in Germany.

Europe is at the forefront of efforts to decarbonize transport, employing diverse solutions. With 75% of EU citizens residing in cities of varying size, geography, and local economy, European urban centres are facing the challenge of establishing efficient, resilient, and low-emission transport networks that enhance liveability, economic activity, and environmental sustainability. This trend significantly impacts cities economically, environmentally, and socially, leading to increased traffic, congestion, noise, and pollution. Transitioning to greener transportation and implementing intelligent transportation systems are crucial to make urban areas more efficient, sustainable, and inclusive by improving traffic flow and offering better access to transportation for all demographics.

Implementing Urban Mobility Transformation is not just about adapting to new transportation trends to gain environmental, social, and economic benefits. It is a strategic move that organizations can use to enhance their sustainability, operational efficiency, and overall competitiveness in a rapidly changing world.

Course design and objectives

The EIT UM is accepting proposals for a face-to-face course, which is mainly synchronous, held either online (entails collaboration, and interactivity), “on-site”, or in a blended format.

The supplier will ensure the scope of the course can improve the capacity of personnel from the automotive industry to review opportunities arising from urban mobility transformations and better understand and analyse the impact on their company, the automotive industry, and the society more generally.

  • Major urban and transport planning principles and tools, with a focus on corporate mobility management
