Home > Request for proposals: Rapid Applications for Transport, RAPTOR – Selection of Agile Innovation Mentor
4 July 2023
The overall purpose of the EIT Urban Mobility Innovation Programme is to resolve challenges facing European cities in improving citizens’ lives, by bringing innovations to market. EIT Urban Mobility, hereinafter also referred to as “EIT UM”, supports projects that are close-to-market, capable of testing new solutions in real-life city demonstrations and that can attain commercial viability by the end of the project.
To harness the wider city innovation capacity and ensure innovation closer to citizens, EIT Urban Mobility developed the Rapid Application for Transport (RAPTOR) programme in 2020. In RAPTOR, cities/towns identify niche mobility issues in specific locations with defined parameters and clear success criteria. Once these niche city mobility challenges are defined, a competition is launched for local innovators, teams, and start-ups to propose solutions to address the original issue and expected outcomes.
With the new edition of the RAPTOR programme in 2023, EIT Urban Mobility will select up to 12 start-ups and SMEs from across Europe to develop solutions to niche mobility challenges introduced by the following cities, Ajka, Akureyri, Ankara, Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, Capital Region of Denmark, Debrecen, Dubnica nad Vahom, The Hague, Helsingborg, Mechelen, Munich, and the Stuttgart Region.
To successfully address the 12 cities niche challenges and support innovators with their solution development, the RAPTOR programme requires business mentoring focused on Agile Innovation.
