Request for proposals: Professional trainings on urban mobility for Italian Cities

By the present procurement procedure, the EIT KIC Urban Mobility S.L. hereby being referred to as “EIT UM” is aiming to identify one supplier capable of delivering two Applied courses in Italy: One on the topic of ‘sustainable urban distribution of goods and cyclelogistics’ and the other one on a topic related to sustainable urban mobility, which can be agreed on at a later stage. Both courses will be required to comply with the EIT Urban Mobility Quality System for Non-Degree Education and Training (EIT UM Label Certification).

The first course should address urban freight logistics challenges by promoting sustainable strategies for goods distribution in Italian cities through the concept of cyclelogistics. The course should be designed for participants to gain skills to develop and operate cyclelogistics solutions, while addressing economic, environmental, and social impacts. For the second course, objectives and course design details should be determined once the topic is identified and approved by EIT UM.

Course design and objectives

As per previous chapter, the EIT UM is accepting proposals for these two Applied Courses, which are synchronous, held either online (interactive digital workshop sessions), “on-site”, or in a blended format.

The course on cyclelogistics must build upon the success and insights gained from the first course editions from 2022 and 2023 and shall demonstrate the potential to be replicable/scalable. The supplier will ensure it includes aspects related to the decarbonization, reliability, safety, and digitalization of urban freight movements by light vehicles in Italy. It should aim to raise awareness and provide tools for the development of cyclelogistics solutions tailored to the Italian context, and analyse supply-side factors, including governance, infrastructure, incentives, and challenges related to digitalization in urban goods distribution.

For the second course on sustainable urban mobility, the supplier should suggest one or more topics with relevance to the Italian market. It should also demonstrate practical applicability and scalability potential. The topic should be agreed with EIT UM approx. 6 months before the course takes place.

Within the scope of this RFP, the supplier will ensure that the courses are addressing the solutions in the context of Italian cities as well as regional and national regulations in Italy.
