Home > Request for Proposals: Professional training on deploying automated vehicles in European cities
9 March 2023
By the present procurement procedure, EIT Urban Mobility is to identify a supplier capable of designing and delivering a multi-annual face-to-face (F2F) training course on the topic of deploying automated vehicles in European cities.
The deployment of shared and automated vehicles in public transport contributes to advancement of sustainable urban mobility, and it supports novel mobility schemes such as demand-responsive transport (DRT), Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and Logistics-as-a-Service (LaaS). The objective of the course is to develop the capacity of mobility managers and decision makers to assess and improve organisational readiness to deploy automated vehicles in local context of north-western Europe (Scandinavia, German-speaking area), taking into consideration classification of automated driving systems of certain level as defined by the SAE standard adopted by the European Commission in the 2021 published JRC Science for Policy Report on Trustworthy Autonomous Vehicles. The aim of the course is to equip the participants with skills, knowledge, and tools to design, develop and implement strategic and practical solutions for AVs’ deployment plans in local context.
Course design and objectives
EIT Urban Mobility is accepting proposals for the F2F course, which is mainly synchronous, held either online (entails collaboration, and interactivity), “on-site”, or in a blended format. The course must be replicable/scalable to be one of the components within the EIT Urban Mobility Competence Hub’s Financial Sustainability strategy, therefore the proposal is to present a detailed business and financial sustainability plan covering the period from 2023 to 2027 (see details in chapter 2.2 of the Request for Proposals document).
The supplier will ensure the scope of the course to cover the use cases and pilot studies of AVs in public transport, regulatory requirements and outlook, and project management of the deployment process including lessons learned from established cases in other European countries.
The supplier will ensure the participants will get to know and use the tools and methodologies for development of feasibility studies.
The supplier will ensure that the outcome of the course will enable participants to prepare for strategic and practical deployment of AVs in the context of the participants’ organisation of origin in the target geographical area.
Within the scope of this request for proposals, the supplier will ensure that the course is incorporating tailored instructor-led methodologies to enable the participants to prepare for strategic and practical deployment of solutions in the context of participants’ organisation of origin in the target geographical area.
All information, including the detailed scope of work, deliverables, and terms & conditions can be found in the Request for Proposals.
