Request for proposals: EIT Urban Mobility Master School business challenge providers for kick-off event

2 May 2025

By the present procurement procedure, EIT Urban Mobility, hereinafter being referred to as “EIT UM”, is seeking professional support for the preparation, alignment, coordination, coaching, and execution of the Business Challenge during the EIT Urban Mobility Master School Kick-Off event. The selected provider will be appointed as the official educational consultant hereinafter referred to as the “Provider”). This document, along with its annexes, constitutes a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by EIT Urban Mobility for the potential procurement of services in the field of event management and venue coordination.

The EIT Urban Mobility Master School offers a unique educational experience that combines technical education with innovation and entrepreneurship (I&E), targeting talented students from around the world to tackle current and future mobility issues. Every year, the EIT Urban Mobility Master School organises an event that brings together a kick-off for the incoming student cohort and a graduation ceremony, offering new students a chance to connect with graduates and hear about their experiences at various universities.

During the 3-day kick-off event, the new students are introduced to innovation and entrepreneurship through a Business Challenge, a structured project where the student teams are tasked with developing creative and viable solutions for specific challenges faced by industry and/or cities. Therefore, the Business Challenge aims to provide the new students with an opportunity to engage deeply with the following subjects:

  1. Foster innovation and entrepreneurial skills among students.
  2. Provide practical, hands-on experience through team-based problem-solving.
  3. Engage students with real-world mobility challenges, originating from industry and cities.
  4. Allow students to work in multidisciplinary teams to propose and develop solutions for those challenges.
  5. Facilitate networking and collaboration among students, industry experts, and academic professionals.

EIT Urban Mobility seeks support from an educational consultant with track record on innovation and entrepreneurship education to oversee the preparation, alignment, coordination, coaching, and execution of the Business Challenge during the EIT Urban Mobility Master School Kick-Off event to be held at a partner university in Ghent, Belgium, from 9 to 11 October 2025.
