Home > Digital and private platform for EIT Higher Education Initiative Community 26-28
16 March 2026
By the present procurement procedure, EIT Urban Mobility, hereinafter being referred to as “EIT UM”, is seeking professional support for a digital and private platform for the EIT Higher Education Initiative Community, (hereinafter being referred to as “Digital Platform”). This document, along with its annexes, constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by EIT Urban Mobility for a potential procurement of services in the field of online communities.
The EIT Higher Education Initiative is a pan-European project that aims at helping higher education institutions to build capacity to teach innovation and entrepreneurship. The EIT Higher Education Initiative organises annual calls for proposals, inviting European higher education institutions to design institution wide action plans in which they have to train and mentor a minimum number of students, academic and non-academic staff in entrepreneurship and innovation fields, and also support start-ups through services like mentoring and consultancy.
In the context of the EIT Higher Education Initiative, EIT Urban Mobility is leading the Higher Education Initiative Community, connecting the project partners, students, academic and non-academic staff trained, as well as the startup founders supported.
Two years ago, the EIT Higher Education Initiative launched its private digital community platform, which brings together our vibrant community of innovators and entrepreneurs described above. The platform already has more than 1,400 active users and serves as the central platform for collaboration and engagement within our community.
The Higher Education Initiative Community enables project partners, innovators and entrepreneurs to access information, documents and opportunities shared by the EIT Higher Education Initiative and our community members, register for events, and engage in discussions with peers across sectors. It connects organisations from industry, research, academia, and the public sector, fostering collaboration to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in Europe.
Our goal in this next phase is to further grow and activate the community, expand platform functionalities, and enhance user experience to ensure the Higher Education Initiative Community continues as the central space to support the EIT Higher Education Initiative and its long-term sustainability.
WP 1: An extranet community platform for up to 9,000 members containing a minimal set of features
WP 2: On-demand add-ons
If needed, additional add-on features are to be available on demand.
