VOOVOO

This project addressed dangerous driving behaviour for commercial car-sharing and car rental companies to improve safety, fuel economy and operational costs. It aimed to increase the adoption of car-sharing services by providing hosts with a cost-effective solution to upgrade fleet management.

Safe-driving technology VOOBOX, built on GPS monitoring, can be installed in almost any vehicle and provides real-time prevention of speeding and aggressive driving. While existing technologies on the market can only monitor vehicles, VOOBOX technology can proactively prevent driving violations to avoid car accidents. The product is designed for commercial fleet management to improve safety and save millions for the industry.

As part of this project, VOOVOO worked with the Tesla fleet car-sharing company Ox Drive. In the one month pilot phase, VOOVOO technology was installed in a Tesla Model 3 SR+. Technological improvements to the solution included API development and web application, which can be connected to any other GPS tracking platform. Additionally, during the project, the solution became compliant with Tesla cars, updated speed limitation logics, and offered customisable speed tolerance of 5-20km/h and gradual speed reduction to remotely ‘immobilise’ the vehicle safely. Using the VOOBOX technology, 90% of speeding events were eliminated (except the emergency overriding situations).
