Bratislava feels the effects of climate change more acutely every year. Rising pollution levels in the city reflect the fact that the number of cars has doubled over the past 20 years. The city’s zoning plan needs to mitigate the effects of climate change. One objective of the zoning plan is to create more liveable and user-friendly public spaces by implementing targeted urban interventions that encourage active mobility. To do so, the city first needs to understand the specific impacts of climate change on certain areas of Bratislava, identify the key areas for improvement, and plan appropriate public interventions.
BitaGreen’s platform will provide the city of Bratislava with access to climate-related data to create simulations and thus identify strategies to mitigate risk and maximise opportunity. Using interactive maps and AI-based analytics, the tool will enable the city to produce high-resolution green infrastructure maps, assess the costs and benefits of urban planning scenarios, create investment-ready projects with high environmental, social, and governance (ESG) scores, and monitor green infrastructure performance.
The BitaGreen solution will support the preparation of Bratislava’s new zoning plan by mapping climate-related risks such as drought, heat and heavy rains, and urban challenges including traffic, noise and air pollution.
