Private vehicle sharing in Brussels

Incentives to promote private vehicle sharing

Project summary

Tour&Taxis is a mixed real estate development close to Brussels North train station. Within the area there are residential, commercial and ministerial districts; offices, leisure facilities, and a 12-hectare park, which makes it the biggest development in Brussels since 1890. On average, private vehicles (cars, e-scooters, e-bikes, bicycles, etc.) are parked for 90% of the time. Tour&Taxis is thus seeking a solution to make better use of private mobility resources and create a stronger sense of community among residents.

Volvero is a vehicle-sharing app that connects people who own a vehicle with people who need one. Through AI and advanced technologies, Volvero has improved quality and security for users by offering full insurance coverage, making it easy, safe, and reliable to share private vehicles.

Over several weeks, Volvero will pilot the platform within the real estate development by involving over 150 residents and workers in the area and hosting an event to gather feedback on their transportation needs. The RAPTOR project experience will help Volvero determine how their operational processes should be organised for a successful full-scale launch across EU countries.
