The Capital Region of Denmark aims to electrify 1.5 million vehicles by 2030. To do so, it needs to guarantee an accessible and transparent electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The price of EV charging in the Capital Region of Denmark is regulated by charging operators themselves, meaning that prices can vary significantly depending on factors such as the time of day, the amount of energy used, the type of charging station, the operator, and roaming policies. There is no holistic, real-time comparison of EV charging operators, which results in EV drivers overpaying. To support the electrification process required to meet Denmark’s climate targets and ensure that the charging infrastructure keeps up with demand, it is vital to ensure price transparency and offer EV drivers the best conditions to charge their vehicle.
Chargeprice offers real-time pricing information by scanning various charging point operators and e-mobility service providers, empowering users to make cost-effective decisions. The app allows EV drivers to find charging stations based on compatible charging cards and apps, ad hoc charging availability, the time of day or night, type of charge required, and charging speed. Depending on the charging station, this allows EV drivers to save up to 50% on charging costs, contributing to a broader uptake of EVs.
During the project, Chargeprice’s price comparison web app will be tailored to the Danish market and language. During the pilot phase, over 4,000 Danish EV drivers are expected to use the service. The app will improve the data quality and information on charging prices for 16,600 charge points in Denmark. It will also integrate parking prices for more than 900 EV charging stations for the parking zones in Copenhagen, and provide automated price updates twice a week for 10 e-mobility service providers.

There is currently a lack of EV charging price transparency for drivers.
This project will provide EV drivers with the best conditions to charge their vehicles, thereby supporting the electrification required to meet Denmark’s climate targets.
It is hoped that increased price transparency will bring greater uptake of EVs.
