PORTAL

Our drone ports serve as secure landing hubs for heavy lift drones and boast full autonomy in fleet management, encompassing tasks such as charging, storage and deployment, as well as handling of goods, including storage, retrieval and safe handover

Project summary

Inteliports is revolutionising city logistics with autonomous drone deliveries. Utilising cutting-edge heavy-lift drones and state-of-the-art drone ports, Inteliports is implementing aerial logistics for businesses and communities alike.

Our drone ports serve as secure landing hubs for heavy lift drones and boast full autonomy in fleet management, encompassing tasks such as charging, storage and deployment, as well as handling of goods, including storage, retrieval and safe handover. The ports allow for integration with existing logistics infrastructures, including micromobility options.

Portal aims to demonstrate the world’s first autonomous drone operation, combining heavy-lift drones and drone ports with micromobility services (e-bike couriers). The focus of the project is to trial the handover of inbound heavy lift aerialshipments to micromobility services (e-bike couriers) via autonomous drone ports. The project seeks to demonstrate aconcept of operations that addresses critical challenges in the global unmanned aircraft system (UAS) sector, specifically the viability and feasibility of integrating aerial services into communities on a routine, impactful basis.

Inteliports will be collaborating with the Isle of Wight to trial autonomous UAS with the vision to deploy a network of portsthat can facilitate high-speed, low-cost, sustainable last-mile deliveries to residents on the island.

The PORTAL project will involve the deployment of the Inteliport GO, the world’s first fully autonomous drone port which will receive and deploy heavy lift drone missions, working collaboratively with e-bike couriers. The project will simulate deliveries to assess the performance of the operation in a real-world commercial environment and understand its social, economic and environmental impacts. The project seeks to pave a way forward for aerial drone services to disrupt the commercial last mile delivery sector.

Context

This project aims to deploy and demonstrate a UAS concept of operations that involves heavy lift drone integration with autonomous drone ports and micromobility services.

Challenge

The project will address challenges associated with standard last’mile logistics including congestion, inefficient routes and delivery costs.

Expected outcome

The activity demonstrates the concept of operations in a real world, commercial environment to evaluate its performance based on social, economic and environmental impact.
