In the city of Ankara, the electric bike sharing system includes more than 500 bikes and 40 charging stations. However, the system lacks a decision-support feature, making it impossible to automatically optimise field operations such as collecting bikes, replacing batteries, carrying out on-site maintenance, returning bikes to the workshop, etc. As these operations are costly, an efficient and smart management system needs to be developed. The goal of this project is therefore to establish an optimisation system for the e-bike field operations by developing integrated software.
Hergele’s solution streamlines micromobility field operations through innovative route planning and optimisation features. The app automates tasks and provides real-time tracking, thereby reducing operational costs. The solution also provides data to support strategic decision making to manage the bike fleet as efficiently as possible.
Hergele will integrate its solution into the existing operations applications of EGO Ankara, the city’s micromobility fleet operator. In collaboration with EGO Ankara, the solution will be tested on a subset of the electric bike fleet. Hergele’s solution will streamline micromobility field operations in Ankara, helping to reduce congestion, enhance fleet efficiency and improve the experience for both micromobility users and maintenance staff.
