The EIT Urban Mobility Emerging Leaders Programme aspires to be an agent of change in urban mobility by transforming the leadership landscape. It seeks to foster the growth of high-potential leaders within the public sector, equipping them with the skills and perspectives to effectively manage and innovate in an increasingly complex environment.
Emerging leaders, nominated by city mayors or senior officials depending on the city scale, will undertake a six-month development journey. Each cohort includes 8 to 10 participants from cities and public transport authorities across Europe.
The programme is participant-led and participant-centred, with full commitment from participants and their organisations being essential to driving a positive growth loop of shared knowledge, leadership development and public sector innovation.
The inaugural edition, launched in Barcelona in May 2024, set the stage for transformative experiences across seven European cities. Building on this success, the second edition will launch in 2025, offering approximately 40 hours of tailored professional development over six months. Delivered in a hybrid format, it blends immersive in-person modules with flexible online learning experiences, ensuring practical, hands-on engagement throughout.
