EU-Propel (also known as EU-Propulse), led by the Agence de l’Innovation pour les Transports (AIT), brings together three graduate startups from the open innovation programme Propulse, along with innovation consultancy Bax & Company and a large network of EU cities, to tackle car-dependency issues in logistics, commuting and leisure. The project objective is threefold:

EU-Propel brings the AIT’s open innovation programme Propulse to the next level, by developing and validating startup solutions addressing niche urban mobility challenges.
The project addresses individual car dependency in logistics, commuting and leisure in the agglomerations of Toulouse, Rouen, Paris-Saclay and Nevers.
EU-Propel will support the validation of 3 innovations from mobility startups: Deki, 1km à Pied and Ynstant.
The EU-Propulse project, from June 2024 to June 2025, achieved its goals of deploying innovative mobility solutions and engaging cities. Three innovations (DEKI, 1km à Pied, Ynstant) were successfully marketed, four cities were engaged, and five demonstrations involving citizens were conducted. Specifically, Ynstant saw 2242 registered users and 2492 trips happen through their instant car pooling app. 1km à Pied in Rouen demonstrated the potential of reassigning 10 employees closer to their home: a reduction of commute times by 28 minutes and annual costs by €5,007. DEKI showed the great impact of delivery optimisation in Toulouse with demonstration of a carbon-free delivery.
