In recent years, digital twins have revolutionised the engineering world as a result of sensor and data advancements. However, despite the prevalence of simulation models, complete digital twins are uncommon in the mobility sector, due to a general lack of knowledge on the topic. As a result, the goal of this project is to educate mobility professionals and advanced academic students on the simulation and sensor technologies required for a successful urban digital twin, while maintaining traditional theoretical insights about transportation.
To accomplish this, academic and industry experts are collaborating to develop a comprehensive course on digital twin technology that is work-compatible, and primarily based on practical examples and use cases, using one of the market’s leading simulation software. Overall, the course will foster the widespread adoption of the “digital twin” mindset among professionals, supporting the much-needed digitalisation of the mobility sector.
