Curb management in Tel Aviv

Managing curbs for pedestrian safety

Project summary

In some areas of Tel Aviv, the number of micromobility vehicles, delivery motorbikes and large vehicles significantly impact pavement capacity, making it impossible and sometimes even dangerous for pedestrians to walk. In this project, the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo will seek to understand different approaches to collecting data and managing kerb safety.

Startup A.D Knight will test and deploy two of its products:

  • the SpotBeam solution, which detects hazardous traffic situations such as illegal riding of e-scooters on the curb and generates real-time alerts;
  • the AreaSense solution, which generates unique mobility insights such as micromobility counting, methods of transport comparison, and traffic analytics.

During the project pilot, A.D Knight systems will be deployed along a one-kilometre stretch of road in Tel Aviv for further assessment of the city’s various stakeholders.
