Wolt, a leading urban delivery company and partner of EIT Urban Mobility, will hold a test drive in Prague on 19 February at WeWork Národní as part of the Better Cities Fund. Participants will have the opportunity to test Wolt’s light electric vehicle fleet firsthand.
Wolt’s Better Cities Fund is a sustainability-focused programme launched to accelerate the decarbonisation of last-mile logistics. Established last year with a €400,000 fund, the programme has already seen success in the Nordics, supporting couriers in transitioning to more sustainable, low-emission vehicles. Now, Wolt is looking to expand the initiative to other cities, including Prague.
Wolt aims to reduce the carbon footprint of urban deliveries by offering financial support to its courier partners, enabling them to rent electric bicycles. In particular, Wolt will make it possible for couriers to test their Vok S cargo bike, an innovative option that not only helps reduce emissions but also enhances efficiency. The Vok S bike is designed to handle a wider range of tasks compared to traditional bikes, making it an ideal solution for reducing the need for cars in crowded city centres.
Wolt’s Better Cities Fund not only facilitates the shift from fossil fuel-powered vehicles to eco-friendly alternatives but also helps couriers overcome the high costs of electric transportation. By offering a grant that significantly reduces the monthly lease cost of electric bikes, the company makes it financially easier for couriers to adopt sustainable transportation options.
