From ideas to initiatives – how can we implement ideas about diversity in the mobility and transport sector?
Join us on 22 May 2025 for the concluding webinar of the Women in the Nordic ITS 2 (WIN-ITS 2) project. This online event will focus on how we can move from conversations to concrete actions that promote diversity and inclusion in the mobility and transport sector.
In a sector traditionally dominated by men, diversity remains a critical yet often overlooked issue. To address this, ITS organisations from Finland, Estonia, Iceland and Norway will present insights shared by expert speakers at the ITS organisations’ events of the project. The topics range from integrating diversity into urban planning and policy-making to reshaping organisational cultures.
The webinar will also feature a presentation by Michala Hvidt Breengaard, Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Copenhagen, who will share insights from a collaboration between the university and several Danish municipalities. This research-led project produced concrete recommendations for how local governments can develop green mobility solutions that reflect the needs of all citizens, including those whose voices are often underrepresented in planning processes. The team also developed innovative communication tools, including a learning game designed to engage transport planners and policymakers in dialogue around gender, diversity and sustainable urban mobility.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear how Nordic and Baltic ITS actors and researchers are turning ideas into initiatives and leading the way toward a more inclusive mobility future.
The WIN-ITS 2 project is co-funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers, EIT Urban Mobility, Trivector Traffic, ITS Estonia, ITS Finland, ITS Iceland and ITS Norway.
