Event details

EIT Urban Mobility invites you to participate in Velo-city 2025, taking place in Gdańsk from 10 to 13 June.

Velo-city is an annual global cycling summit organised by the European Cyclists’ Federation, bringing together cyclists, experts, policymakers, and industry leaders. The event plays a vital role in promoting cycling as an eco-friendly and healthy mode of transport for all. Held over four days, the conference attracts hundreds of delegates from more than 60 countries.

A Global Hub for Cycling Innovation

This year, Velo-city takes place in Gdańsk under the theme Energising Solidarity. The conference will explore key topics including active mobility, sustainable urban planning, cycling economics, political action, and cycling activism. More than 100 exhibitors will showcase the latest innovations in cycling infrastructure, smart mobility solutions, and bicycle technology. Participants can look forward to over 80 sessions—ranging from lectures and workshops to engaging discussions—alongside exciting side events such as a bike parade through key areas of the city.

In addition to the main theme, Velo-city 2025 has identified several key topics that will shape the direction of the conference:

  • The Social Power of Cycling
  • Shaping the Urban Transformation Together
  • Political Solidarity for a Just Transition
  • Cycling for Joy and Health
  • Cycling to Boost the Economy and Save Energy

Don’t miss the session Breaking Barriers: Empowering Women’s Mobility on 12 June from 10.45 to 11.45 at the Freewheel Stage. Join the discussion on tackling the gender gap in cycling and discover inspiring initiatives—from rural empowerment in Nepal and India to women-led programmes in Barcelona. Our Citizen Engagement Officer, Carolina Cominotti, will be among the speakers sharing insights on making mobility more inclusive for women and girls.

Shaping a Healthy Future

Gdańsk plays an essential role as Poland’s cycling capital, supported by a comprehensive network of over 850 km of cycle-friendly routes. The city is also implementing modern cycling traffic monitoring, providing real-time data to enhance infrastructure planning. Moreover, Gdańsk actively promotes cycling through a range of initiatives, including the nationwide Cycling May campaign, which focuses on encouraging school pupils to cycle to school.

The conference is organised by the City of Gdańsk, with EIT Urban Mobility and the Polish New Mobility Association as supporting partners.
