This compelling bi-city programme unfolds over two weeks from 8 July to 19 July, 2024, connecting participants across Bratislava and Ljubljana. It’s an assembly of academic vigor aimed at students, industry experts, and passionate learners eager to confront the hurdles of urban resilience and shape tenable answers to these puzzles.

Week 1 – Foundations of Urban Resilience

Kicking off in Bratislava, the first week is a deep dive into the complexities of urban resilience. Commencing with orientation and team-building exercises, participants warm up to the programme and each other, setting the stage for an inclusive learning environment. The following days are packed with interactive sessions exploring urban mobility issues and formulating business strategies through challenge-based learning. Participants will partake in market analyses and solution development workshops, steering their creative energies towards tangible outcomes. In tandem, they’ll benefit from the insights of industry professionals, ensuring a practical edge to their theoretical undertakings.

Week 2 – Strategising and Proposition

Transitioning to Ljubljana, the focus sharpens on strategic business plan development and start-up mentorship. Here, the participants pivot from ideation to the implementation of their resilient city concepts, engaging in proposal development and fine-tuning their pitches with expert guidance. The programme crescendos with a series of pitch preparations, leading to the presentation of fully-fledged business plans to a discerning panel of experts. Participants are encouraged to weave ethical, societal, and environmental considerations into their proposals, culminating in an awards ceremony that recognises the most innovative and impactful solutions.

The Resilient Cities Summer School is an empowering platform, going beyond academia to instill participants with the know-how and boldness to envisage and instigate real-world urban transformation.
