SELECT workshop: The role of public actors in supporting the electric transition in logistics

Event details

Join the “SELECT workshop: The role of public actors in supporting the electric transition in logistics” webinar. Learn more about how significantly public actors can contribute to the electrification of the logistics sector.

Public actors are an essential part of the electrification of logistics, whether it be legislation, funding or planning safety. Part of this transition is to collaborate on detecting what is needed to ensure electric light and heavy-duty fleets have access to sufficient power and energy at logistics hubs and public sites. Also, the examination of the governance frameworks required to support the transition determines the transition.

In the workshop, stakeholders from the North Sea region, including local and regional authorities as well as business support organisations, explore the differences, similarities and synergies of their experiences regarding the role of public actors in the transition. Furthermore, representatives from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Sweden will present their inspirational initiatives to compare the progress in the countries and discuss how a fruitful exchange can drive change.

These inspirational initiatives will be presented:

  • Heavy Duty Charging in the Netherlands – Tim FrikkeeLOLA
  • Electrification of City Fleet – Veerle De Meyer, City of Mechelen
  • Heavy Duty Charging in Hamburg – Marvin CobökenhySolutions
  • The role of cities – inspiration from Copenhagen
  • Electrification Plan for the City of Gothenburg – Anne PiegsaBusiness Region Gothenburg

The overall objective of the workshop is to collect information that will add value to the work of the project partners. They will produce a guideline for the most desired measures to support the electrification of the logistics sector.

About

The Interreg North Sea Region funds the SELECT project. The project unites local and regional authorities alongside business support organisations from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. The overarching aim is to present a model for collaboration between these authorities and logistics stakeholders. The collaboration should help to facilitate the rapid electrification of commercial logistics fleets and the adoption of digital solutions for sharing charging infrastructure. This model serves as a blueprint for other authorities in the North Sea Region (NSR).
