The Portugal Smart Cities Summit 2026 is an annual international gathering of city leaders, urban planners, policymakers, researchers, businesses and civil society that showcases practical solutions for sustainable, resilient and inclusive cities through plenaries, thematic tracks, workshops, exhibitions and networking.
At the Portugal Cities Summit, EIT Urban Mobility will organise two sessions covering two of the hottest challenges in urban mobility today: Mobility Data and Urban Logistics.
Industry Session “From fragmented data to actionable insights: building mobility observatories for cities” [13 June, 15.45-16.30 h]
The session will examine how European cities aim to cut car dependency while struggling to track progress and communicate results due to fragmented mobility data and a lack of integrated tools. It will showcase how shared platforms and interoperable systems help cities access and use mobility data. Moderated by: Martí Massot, Regional Director at Innovation Hub South
Speakers:
– Rui Velasco, IMT – Instituto da Mobilidade e dos Transportes
– Filipa Henriques, ANSR – Autoridade Nacional de Segurança Rodoviária In Portugal. 13 May at 16:45h
Closed session: “Urban logistics at a turning point: how innovation can enable scalable systems.”
[13 June, 9.30 – 12.00h]
A closed-door session to gather stakeholders and address challenges such as restricted freight visibility and fragmented operations, and to outline steps to scale digital and regulatory capacity. Through concrete city examples and discussion among participants, the session will explore how cities and industry can move from isolated pilots toward scalable urban logistics systems by building the necessary digital, regulatory, and organisational capabilities. Participants will leave with practical takeaways on how innovation can help cities and companies transform urban logistics while enabling collaboration across the public and private sectors. More information about how to participate in this closed session will be available soon
Additionally, EIT Urban Mobility will also return as an exhibitor, welcoming attendees at its booth to explore tools, case studies, and partnership opportunities.
