Kidical Mass Barcelona 2025 is a family-friendly cycling event that advocates for safer, more inclusive urban mobility for children. Inspired by the global Kidical Mass movement, it brings together families, cycling groups, and community members to reclaim city streets and promote child-friendly infrastructure.
In May 2024, the event saw around 3,000 participants pedalling through Barcelona under the slogan “0% emissions, 100% emotions,” highlighting the need for sustainable and safe mobility options for children. The 4-kilometer route through the Poblenou district was filled with music, colourful decorations, and a strong sense of community.
Kidical Mass Barcelona is part of a broader international initiative that began in Oregon in 2008 and has since expanded to over 400 cities worldwide. The movement emphasizes the right of children to navigate their cities safely and independently by bicycle.
The event is organised by a coalition of local volunteer groups, including Bicibús Eixample, EIT Urban Mobility, BACC, and Biciclot, who are committed to promoting cycling culture and advocating for safer streets in Barcelona.
