Organised by IESE Business School’s PPP for Cities, in collaboration with EIT Urban Mobility, this workshop will bring together representatives from city councils, private sector leaders, policymakers, and researchers from across the Barcelona Metropolitan Area in a collaborative effort to address the most pressing challenges facing our city.
Under the umbrella of the project “A Vision for Barcelona’s Future”, more than 60 representatives from over 30 public, private, and research institutions have come together in working groups to find actionable short-term solutions in five key areas of the city: mobility, logistics, innovation, energy and resources, and urban studies.
The workshop will be a platform for exchanging ideas and interactive debate, where the working groups’ proposals will be presented. All those attending the seminar can share their opinions, experiences, and suggestions to move forward together towards a more promising future for Barcelona.
The project has involved the creation of five Research Advisory Groups focusing on key areas of future development: mobility, logistics, innovation, energy and resources, and urban studies. In each area, the groups have identified the main current problems and the urgent regions for intervention, all of which share a common factor: the need for data-driven solutions, clear governance, and commitment.
At the workshop, we will present the groups’ proposals and submit them to the scrutiny of local stakeholders through an interactive debate format. All workshop attendees can share their views and experiences, challenge the proposed solutions, and suggest new ways forward.
