Transport accounts for approximately 21% of global GHG emissions according to the International Energy Agency. Transport stakeholders have been making significant efforts to decarbonise the sector. Innovation plays a key role in reducing emissions through increased efficiency, optimised operation, transition to renewable energy etc. To enable market uptake of innovation, evidence-based impact assessment of the emission reductions from the implementation of innovative solutions is needed. Currently, many financial institutes can only invest in projects if they can be shown to help in climate action. To secure investment, innovation owners need to present their impacts on emission reduction. Therefore, assessing emission reduction from implementation of innovative solutions in the transport sector is essential. To address this need, the ENTRANCE project consortium is organising this training webinar to provide introductions on current practices.
The objectives of the webinar
The training webinar aims to help innovation investors, buyers, and owners to develop a common understanding on how to develop a comprehensive understanding of how to assess impacts of innovative solutions on emissions reduction, thus using the impact assessment for facilitating innovation uptakes.
Target audience
Any stakeholder who is interested in selling, buying, and investing into innovative solutions for decarbonising the transport sector.

The GLEC Framework is the only globally recognized methodology for harmonized calculation and reporting of the logistics GHG footprint across the multi-modal supply chain. The framework is designed to inform business decisions and steer efforts to reduce emissions. It is in alignment with Greenhouse Gas Protocol, UN-led Global Green Freight Action Plan and CDP reporting.
GreenRouter provides a calculation tool accredited by Smart Freight Centre as in conformance with the GLEC Framework.
Girteka and IKEA Supply Chain Operations participated in a trial using Transporeon’s Carbon Visibility tool to test how data quality would impact overall emissions reporting. Results showed that the higher the quality of your data, the more accurate your emissions reporting will be – and when you report less, you pay less.
Baillie Gifford, is an investment management company focused on long-term investment returns for their clients aligned with a proactive philosophy for long-term environmental stewardship.
EINRIDE, founded in 2016 as an innovator in the transport and logistics sector by using Autonomous Electric Transport (AET) and an intelligent Freight Mobility Platform to reduce emissions in road freight. It has developed its own GHG calculation tool to report their achievements. It serves as a best practice for innovation owner for impact assessment for future buyers and investors.
