Design Thinking for Women in Urban Mobility

Event details

Women in Urban Mobility is a joint project of UnternehmerTUM Munich, Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya, Carnet Barcelona and Junior Achievement Bulgaria, funded by EIT Urban Mobility.

Our vision is to create a unique network of urban mobility experts across Europe and raise awareness for female perspectives and gender equality in the urban mobility sector.

Design Thinking expert and trainer Apostol Dyankov will take you through the stages of the workshop with a combination of theoretical learning and hands-on exercises that will help you apply the major principles of design thinking to real-life scenarios.

Apostol has been training young entrepreneurs since 2014, as part of the GREENT green entrepreneurship programme at JA Bulgaria, and PandaLabs program at WWF, which helps young people apply design thinking methods for solving environmental problems. He is one of the creators of the first Bulgarian board game for sustainable local development "WheelVille" and a senior climate expert at WWF Bulgaria. He supports institutions, companies, and communities implementing nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Participants will have the chance to be divided into teams and take active participation. The design thinking methods that will be covered during the interactive workshop are:

  • Understanding/Empathy - understanding of the context, systems, and the problem as well as who does it affect.
  • Defining/identifying the problem's aspects - what is the actual problem we are trying to solve?
  • Ideation - generating of a wide range of possible solutions and approaches and selecting the best ideas amongst them
  • Prototyping - creating of a solution's prototype (a map, diagram, drawing, description)

We are looking for local and international professionals, entrepreneurs, students and scientists, decision-makers, anyone interested in urban mobility.
