#ChallengeMyCity Toulouse Launch

Join EIT Urban Mobility and the City of Toulouse at the launch event of our new #ChallengeMyCity pilots! 

The city of Toulouse and EIT Urban Mobility, through its programme #ChallengeMyCity, have cooperated over the past months to deploy two innovative mobility solutions in Toulouse. EIT Urban Mobility has funded the trial of two pilots at the Gare de Matabiau station, with the aim of solving the urban mobility challenges faced by the city in improving its active mobility infrastructure and co-creating a model for multimodality that can be rolled-out throughout Toulouse's new third metro line, set to launch in 2028.

These are the selected pilots:

• A secure bike shelter for private bikers implemented by the start-up Nielsen Concept. 
• A solar-powered docking station for e-vehicles put in place by the start-up SOLUM. 

The services will be provided during 6 months to Toulouse citizens so that they can travel more sustainably and safely park their e-scooters, bikes, and e-bikes next to the train station, as a way to validate a new model of multimodality that can foster the use of micromobility across the entire transport network and can later be applied to the entire third metro line.

On September 28th at 17:30h, the official inauguration of the pilots will take place at Gare Matabiau Station. The following speakers will participate in the event: 

• Jean-Luc Moudenc, Mayor of Toulouse and President of Toulouse Métropole
• Maria Tsavachidis, CEO of EIT Urban Mobility
• Souhayla Marty, Maire du Quartier (Lapujade, Bonnefoy, Périole, Marengo, La Colonne)

Before the inauguration, a citizen engagement activity will take place in which participants will be able to test the pilots and give their feedback.
