International Placements

DTN PhD Candidates' International Placements meeting

Enhancing global perspectives through hands-on experiences

A key element of the DTN programme is the International Placements. The DTN offers its students unique opportunities for international placements that allow doctoral candidates to gain practical experience in leading research institutions, companies, and urban mobility projects across Europe.

By working in diverse environments, students enhance their academic and professional skills, expand their networks, and acquire a global perspective on urban mobility challenges and solutions. These international experiences are integral to the DTN program, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and innovation and cross-organizational experience.

Students return from their placements with enriched knowledge and insights that contribute significantly to their research and professional growth, preparing them to become leaders in the field of urban mobility.

Student Pitches and participation at Tomorrow Mobility

Showcasing innovative ideas from future urban mobility leaders

As the DTN programme aims to support the PhD candidates’ innovation and entrepreneurial skills, we put a high value on providing platforms for the candidates to pitch their ideas and ventures. An example of that is leveraging the Tomorrow Mobility World Congress (TMWC) as a dynamic platform for DTN candidates to present their innovative research and ideas, in addition to the pitches at the Annual Forum.

The student pitches showcase their cutting-edge projects and solutions to an audience of industry experts, policymakers, and fellow researchers. This opportunity allows students to gain visibility, receive valuable feedback, and connect with potential collaborators and employers. The pitches cover a wide range of urban mobility topics, demonstrating the diverse and impactful research conducted within the DTN.

By participating in TMWC, the PhD candidates contribute to the discourse on urban mobility and gain experience in public speaking and presenting complex ideas effectively.

A unique selection of courses
