The Typical Recruitment Process
Recruitment at EIT Urban Mobility usually follows this process: preliminary selection based on experience and qualifications, assessments (such as business case or tests), and interviews. The exact nature of the assessments will depend on the role in question. Below is more information on the various steps involved in a typical recruitment process at EIT Urban Mobility:
Vacancy notice
The vacancy notice includes a job description, as well as a description of the required qualifications, experience and competencies.
Vacancies are advertised for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Read the notice carefully to ensure you meet all the criteria before applying.
Preliminary selection
Candidates are shortlisted according to the necessary requirements specified in the vacancy notice. The short listed candidates are invited to a first interview.
First Interview
The first interview is done with a recruitment panel composed with at least one member of each gender.
They are conducted in English. If other languages are required for the role, these may also be used in the interview.
We typically use a competency based interview (CBI) approach, whereby candidates are asked about specific examples of past experiences.
The first interview aims to understand how the candidates fits the job requirements and check the main motivations.
Second Interviews
Depending on the role, candidates may be invited to a second interview where they are invited to prepare a business case to present to the recruitment panel.
The second interview is also an opportunity for the candidate to get answer to their questions about the company and the position.
Appointment
Successful candidates are offered a job offer. Successful candidates not offered immediate employment may be placed on a reserve list valid for up to 1 year. Reserve lists are taken into consideration whenever a vacant post is to be filled by an external candidate. However, being placed on a reserve list does not create any entitlement to an offer of employment.
Equal opportunities and non-discrimination
The principles of non-discrimination and equal treatment are among our core values at EIT Urban Mobility. As a EU body, we work for and represent all citizens in greater Europe. We therefore recognise the importance of attracting, developing and retaining a body of staff which reflects the diversity of European societies today. We are convinced that diversity is a strength in the workplace and that harnessing this diversity will create a productive environment in which everyone feels valued, where their talents are fully utilised, and where organisational goals are met.

How is the recruitment process at EIT Urban Mobility?
By policy, our recruitment process typically involves an application screening phase, 2 interview rounds (the second one including an assignment) and, potentially, reference checks. Specific steps may vary depending on the role.
How can I apply for a job at EIT Urban Mobility?
If you are interested in one of our open positions, please complete and submit your application before the deadline on our online application platform: BambooHR.
Can I apply for multiple positions simultaneously?
Yes, you can apply for multiple positions that match your qualifications and interests. However, please note that you must submit separate application files for each role.
What qualifications and skills do you look for in candidates?
Qualifications and skills vary depending on the position, but we generally seek candidates with relevant education, experience, and skills that align with the specific job requirements.
How long does the recruitment process typically take?
The timeline can vary depending on the circumstances (bank holidays, important corporate events, missing actors, etc), but in general we strive to keep the process efficient. It may take several weeks (4-6 as a standard) from application submission to a final decision.
What can I expect during an interview at EIT Urban Mobility?
Our interviews usually last around 40-60 mins depending on the position, and they may include behavioural questions, assignments, and discussions about your qualifications and experience. Be prepared to showcase your skills, challenges and motivation for the role.
Will I always be notified even if I am not preselected?
At EIT Urban Mobility, we value every candidate's application and appreciate your interest in joining our team. Every candidate who has been interviewed will receive news on whether they have been selected for the position of their interest.
However, due to the high volume of applications we receive and the large number of recruitments we handle simultaneously, we cannot guarantee individual feedback for every applicant who has not been preselected and invited to an interview with the panel.
I have not heard from HR after I submitted my application…
We understand the importance of timely communication and strive to provide feedback whenever possible, but please understand that the sheer number of applications we receive can make this challenging.
As a general guideline, if you have not received an invitation for an interview or an update on your application status approximately 4 weeks after the closure of the application deadline, it is likely that you have not been shortlisted for the current position.
We encourage you to continue exploring our career opportunities and applying for roles that match your qualifications and interests. Thank you for considering EIT Urban Mobility as part of your career journey!
