EIT Urban Mobility will participate in the Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2026, taking place on 18–21 May 2026 in Budapest, Hungary.

The Transport Research Arena (TRA) is Europe’s leading conference dedicated to transport research and innovation. The event was initiated by the European Commission together with key stakeholders from the European transport sector.

TRA brings together researchers, industry representatives, policymakers and civil society to exchange knowledge and share the latest developments in mobility and transport innovation. The conference provides a platform to discuss solutions shaping the future of mobility and sustainable transport systems.

Hosted in Budapest, Hungary, TRA 2026 will welcome thousands of participants from around the world and showcase cutting-edge transport research, mobility innovation and emerging trends across all transport modes. The conference also places a strong emphasis on the role of young researchers and next-generation transport innovators.

Shaping the future of mobility

The programme will explore key transport research and innovation themes shaping the future of mobility. It will focus on developments that support sustainable, efficient, and people-centred transport systems. Discussions will examine how user-centred mobility solutions can improve safety and accessibility for passengers and communities. Another focus will be how cities and regions can accelerate the transition to climate-neutral and zero-emission transport.

The programme will also address approaches to planning and operating resilient and efficient transport networks that can adapt to future mobility needs.
