Digital Twins and Smart Cities: Strengthening Preparedness and Resilience in Europe’s Regions

This high-level panel will explore how digital twins and other advanced digital technologies can help cities and regions across Europe strengthen preparedness, resilience and sustainable development. Taking place in Nicosia within the framework of the Bureau of the European Committee of the Regions, the discussion will focus on the role of research, innovation and European partnerships in translating digital solutions into practical tools for public authorities. With contributions from CYENS, academia, national policymakers and EIT Urban Mobility, the panel will highlight how place-based innovation can support EU policy priorities, particularly as Cyprus prepares for its 2026 EU Council Presidency.
