Sanka Cycle in Nantes

4 wheeler cargo e-bikes

Project summary

The main goal of the 2025 pilot is to validate the alignment between the innovative BOB vehicle, its users and Samoa (an urban planning organisation in the Nantes Island area).

Users will have at least two weeks to test BOB in their daily life. The goal is to assess whether the vehicle meets their mobility needs, while respecting constraints such as safety, ease of use, parking and payload.

For Samoa, the pilot represents a great opportunity to support decarbonisation and energy transition by allowing residents to test an innovative and pioneering vehicle. It is a step towards the creation of a “no car area”.

Finally, for SANKA CYCLE, the goal is to collect as much operational feedback as possible about the use of the BOB vehicle: potential barriers or issues, suggestions and improvement ideas. All of this input will help co-develop the next version of the BOB bike to better suit future users and territorial realities. Sixty-six people tried our bike on the first test day on 7 July. A long-term test starts on 4 September, runs until 30 October and will involve 12 people.
