GroceryGo!

Delivering Innovation in Retail Logistics

Project summary

Bruntor, in partnership with RIMI Estonia, will pilot GroceryGo!, an innovative last-mile grocery delivery solution using compact four-wheel electric cargo vehicles, in Tallinn from April to October 2025. Bruntor vehicles feature a 600-litre insulated cargo compartment with temperature control function and a 60 km range per charge, enabling safer, faster and more sustainable deliveries in dense urban areas. By reducing vehicle emissions by an estimated 20% versus conventional vans and cutting delivery times through improved manoeuvrability, GroceryGo! addresses critical urban logistics challenges – traffic congestion, air pollution and rising delivery demand – while promoting inclusive employment for diverse delivery personnel, including older workers and those without driver’s licenses.

Over a seven-month period, two vehicles will undergo an eight-week real-world testing phase with RIMI Estonia’s delivery staff in Tallinn. Performance metrics and user feedback will be collected across at least 20 deliveries to analyse scalability in future developments. Insights will be presented at a dissemination event with RIMI Group stakeholders in October 2025. The project’s outcomes will demonstrate scalable, eco-friendly grocery logistics solutions, ready for replication across European markets.

Context

GroceryGo! tackles urban delivery inefficiencies. Last-mile vans account for 30% of the logistics sector,  yet remain the default choice despite their inefficiencies in dense urban areas.

Challenge

The project will deploy two e-cargo vehicles to reduce emissions and increase the efficiency of last-mile deliveries.

Expected outcome

Reduced emissions, 30% quicker grocery deliveries, and a ready-to-scale model for eco-friendly last-mile logistics.
