Call is now open

The programme supports start-ups in the introduction of their solutions to the market by offering, among others:

  • EVENTS & NETWORKING – Increased visibility via pitching events and programme partner’s networks. Including participation at high-level international events such as Tomorrow.Mobility 2023 and Travel voucher of 2.500 € per team for attending the programme’s activities.
  • FUNDING & PILOTS – access to investors and potential clients
  • Dedicated COACHING & MENTORING by industry experts and experienced founders

For the past years, our accelerator has been helping start-ups achieve their business goals and conquer new milestones. Start-ups are key to drive innovation across our cities and solve the current challenges we face, and want to help you bring your solution your life and spread it across new territories.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants MUST comply with the following eligibility criteria to become part of the programme:

  • A team with at least 3 FTE. NOT a single founder. Not necessarily connected to monetary compensation;
  • START-UP incorporated in EU or EU associated countries according to the official list of countries by the European Union and third countries associated to Horizon Europe. The registration certificate will be required to participate in the programme[1];
  • Not having been selected and benefited from previous editions of the programme, which are Scale-up Hub (2020), ScaleTHENGlobal (2021), Scale-up programme (2022);
  • The submitted application is in English language;

Applications should comply with the following award criteria:

  • A clear, scalable business idea;
  • Founders and employees (e.g. Employee Stock Ownership Plan,ESOP) should still own more than 50% of shares;
  • No more than 10% of your shares are held outside of the eligible countries (no detailed cap table needed);
  • Duly justified, preferred TRL  7 – 9, according to TRL definition in Horizon Europe Work Programme 2023 – 2024
  • FIT with EIT Urban Mobility Scale-up Programme and contribution to EIT Urban Mobility challenge areas or other thematics related to urban mobility:
    • Integrated Mobility
    • Sustainable City Logistics
    • Future Mobility
    • Mobility and Energy
    • Smart Infrastructure
    • Mobility Infrastructure
    • Pollution reduction
    • Inclusive Mobility
    • Active Mobility
    • Public realm

[1] The certificate must be available at the latest 5 calendar days after the selected start-up receives notification of acceptance.

How do I apply to the Scale up programme?

Click here.
You will get redirected to the application platform of EIT Urban Mobility.

You will need to register and validate your account if this is your first time accessing the platform. If you have already created an account, you will need to log in.

Once logged in it is as easy as starting a new application and selecting the program.
During your application you will have to fill in all compulsory fields.

You can save and edit your application until the deadline. Make sure to submit your application before the call is closed.

Which countries are “Eligible”?

Start-ups incorporated in EU27 or EU associated countries are eligible. This includes the following eligible countries:

European Union member states (EU27): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Horizon Europe associated countries: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Morocco, United Kingdom.
